This company were on time for the quote I needed to replace an old unit. They measured so that everything on the wall from the old unit was covered, perfect no extra painting and the put the outside unit in a way better position. I had installation and they young man they sent was awesome. Kept me informed every step of the way. Cleaned up and said anything I wasn’t sure of or that changed to just give them a call. Put my mind at rest. Highly recommend 💯

My aircon died 3 months after having it serviced by Brian’s Airconditional and Refridgeration Solutions who refused to honour the part and work garrantee provided due to the age of the unit. I spent a frustrating day locating an installer who could install a new unit within a couple of days before an advancing heatwave. Smartfix were the only ones capable to doing so and carried the top rate, awarded unit I wanted. Responsive, friendly and polite.

I have used Smartfix for various sections of their business & always found them to be very helpful & knowledgeable. My latest experience was having my air-conditioning serviced ready for summer. From my initial enquiry to the completion of the job, both tradesmen who attended were friendly & courteous. Thank you Tyler for prompt arrival in this instance. I would recommend Smartfix as the “go to” company based on the service i have received.

Smartfix has developed a reputation amongst our clients as being honest, reliable, efficient and provide a professional service that delivers what we promise.
Clean the cooling pads regularly, schedule annual professional servicing, and ensure water supply and drainage are working correctly. Perth’s hard water causes mineral buildup over time, so maintenance before and after each summer is important. Smartfix recommends yearly servicing for evaporative systems.
Most systems last 10 to 15 years. Consider replacement when cooling performance drops even after servicing, repairs are becoming frequent, energy bills rise unexpectedly, or the unit makes excessive noise. Smartfix can often retain existing ductwork when replacing the unit, keeping costs down.
Common causes include dirty or worn cooling pads, a blocked water pump, insufficient ventilation from closed windows and doors, or high outdoor humidity. A system that hasn’t been serviced in several years will also gradually lose performance. If basic checks don’t help, a professional service can identify the cause.
Yes, and it’s a popular setup in Perth. Evaporative cooling handles daytime cooling on dry days, while a split system covers overnight comfort or humid days when evaporative performance drops. The two systems compliment each other and can reduce overall running costs.
It can be. Evaporative cooling suits open-plan spaces like warehouses, workshops, and retail stores where doors or windows can remain open. For businesses needing closed environments or precise temperature control, a refrigerated system is more reliable. Smartfix services light commercial properties and can advise on the right solution.
Yes. Perth’s hot, low-humidity summers are ideal for evaporative cooling, which works by drawing hot air through water-soaked pads. Performance can dip on humid days or during coastal sea breezes, but for most of the Perth summer it delivers reliable, economical cooling.
Cost depends on home size, unit capacity, and whether existing ducting can be reused. In many replacements, the original ductwork and vents can be retained, reducing overall cost. Smartfix provides a free upfront quote and will assess your existing setup before recommending a system.
Generally yes. Evaporative cooling uses only a fan and water pump, drawing considerably less electricity than a refrigerated compressor. The exact saving depends on unit size, usage, and your electricity tariff. The trade-off is no heating capability and reduced effectiveness on humid days.
