9407 2942Fan installation in Perth
Need exhaust fan installation in Perth? Smartfix specialises in exhaust fan installation, along with ceiling fans and heat, fan and light combinations. Whatever the space, our licensed electricians can help.
Better home ventilation
Most people do not start looking for exhaust fan installation until something is already becoming a problem. Steam that hangs around after every shower. Condensation collecting on mirrors and walls. Musty smells that do not clear properly. Mould starting to appear on ceilings, cornices or grout. Or an old fan that has become noisy, weak or stopped working altogether.
A properly installed exhaust fan helps remove moisture, stale air and odours at the source before they build up and cause bigger issues. It is one of the simplest upgrades you can make to protect your home and keep wet areas feeling fresh.
Where we install
Different rooms need ventilation for different reasons, and the right exhaust fan setup depends on how the space is used and what it needs to clear.
Smartfix helps your bathroom stay clear of moisture, condensation and humidity after every shower.
Your laundry stays fresh and well ventilated, even when the dryer is running.
Say goodbye to trapped heat, lingering odours and airborne grease while you cook.
Professional installation
Installing an exhaust fan is not just about fitting a unit into the ceiling. The fan needs to suit the room size, be positioned correctly, and vent air outside effectively. A fan that is too small, poorly located, or incorrectly ducted may run constantly without solving the problem. Getting it right from the start saves time, money, and a lot of frustration down the track.
Additional fan installation option
Ceiling fans are one of the most practical upgrades for Perth homes, helping bedrooms, living areas, and alfresco spaces stay comfortable through summer while keeping air moving in winter. Smartfix supplies and installs ceiling fans across Perth, including standard models and DC motor options for quieter, more energy-efficient performance.
Two popular models we supply and install are the Ventair Skyfan and the Ventair Glacier DC. Both feature intelligent DC motor technology for significantly reduced power consumption, dimmable LED lighting, remote control operation, and a reversible function for year-round comfort.
Already have a fan ready to go? We install customer-supplied ceiling fans too. Our licensed electricians assess the space and have it running properly from day one.
Bathroom ventilation
If you are already looking at exhaust fan installation, a combo unit is worth considering. A single ceiling fixture handles ventilation, heating and lighting in one go, giving you full control over each function. Perth winters are mild but bathroom mornings can still be cold, and a combo unit takes the edge off quickly. Our licensed electricians assess your wiring and recommend the right model for your space.
We make exhaust fan installation easy, with clear advice, professional service and a clean finish, backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.
Whether it is an exhaust fan in the bathroom, a heat, fan and light combo for the ensuite, or a ceiling fan for the alfresco, our licensed electricians get it done right. I have had two repairs completed by Smartfix tradies this week. The oven was repaired by Ryan and Jamie on Tuesday and the work was completed quickly and efficiently. A new power board was installed on Thursday by Tom and John who were very conscientious in explaining the new features of the power board. Even the manager rang me on Tuesday to explain the problems with my old power board. Lovely staff.

Ceiling fan installation costs vary depending on whether existing wiring is in place, ceiling height, and fan type. Fans with integrated lighting, smart controls, or remote systems may also affect the price. Call Smartfix for a fixed-price quote with no hidden fees.
AC fans are usually more affordable upfront and suit many standard homes. DC fans are generally quieter, more energy-efficient and better for bedrooms, studies and living areas. The right choice depends on your budget, room use and how often the fan runs.
Yes, but additional work is required. A common approach is replacing an existing light fitting with a remote controlled fan and using the existing light wiring to power it. Where no wiring exists at all, a licensed electrician will run new cabling from your switchboard.
Yes. If your ceiling fan needs electrical wiring, it must be installed by a licensed electrician. DIY electrical work is unsafe, illegal and may affect your insurance or warranty.
Yes, as long as you choose a fan suited to the location. Outdoor and alfresco areas need weather-resistant fans, and Perth coastal homes may need corrosion-resistant models because of salt air. Smartfix electrician can recommend the right option for your space.
Most standard installations take 60–90 minutes. Jobs involving new wiring, high ceilings, or multiple fans will take longer depending on access and structural conditions. Smartfix will give you an accurate time estimate at booking.
Yes. a renovation is the best time to do it. The National Construction Code requires kitchen ventilation to discharge outside the building, not into the roof cavity. Gas cooktops must have external ducting. Smartfix can wire your rangehood or exhaust fan and run new ducting as part of your renovation scope.
Check the L/s (litres per second) rating on the fan, not the wattage. Bathrooms require a minimum of 25 L/s, kitchens and laundries 40 L/s. If your fan falls short, it won’t clear moisture fast enough — and mould follows. A Smartfix electrician will assess your current setup and recommend the right capacity for your space.
