Smartfix Electricians did an excellent job when my electrics blew. Being a Friday it was very difficult to find anyone however Smartfix came immediately all the way to Mandurah from Clarkson. Everyone was very professional, polite and the workmanship was excellent. They cleaned up after themselves which I’ve never had before. After the job was completed I had two electricians visit to inspect the work which I’ve also never had done before…

I have had two repairs completed by Smartfix tradies this week. The oven was repaired by Ryan and Jamie on Tuesday and the work was completed quickly and efficiently. A new power board was installed on Thursday by Tom and John who were very conscientious in explaining the new features of the power board. Even the manager rang me on Tuesday to explain the problems with my old power board. Lovely staff.

Have some questions?
Smartfix has developed a reputation amongst our clients as being honest, reliable, efficient and provide a professional service that delivers what we promise.
In Western Australia, smoke alarms must be photoelectric, hardwired to mains power with battery backup, less than 10 years old, and installed in hallways near bedrooms and on every level of the home. Homes built after 1 May 2015 must have interconnected alarms. All installations require a licensed electrician.
Yes. Hardwired smoke alarms connect directly to your home’s mains power supply, which means installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician. It is illegal in Western Australia for an unlicensed person to perform this work.
A hardwired smoke alarm connects permanently to your home’s mains power with a battery backup for outages. A battery-operated alarm runs solely on batteries with no mains connection. Under WA regulations, hardwired alarms are required for most Perth homes when selling, renting or building.
In Perth, professional smoke alarm replacement for a standard single hardwired photoelectric alarm often sits around $150 to $250, depending on access, wiring condition and the alarm type. Replacing multiple alarms in one visit can change the per-unit cost, while rental or sale-related compliance needs may affect the quote. Read more here..
Smoke alarms have a lifespan of 10 years. After that, internal sensors can degrade and the alarm may no longer detect smoke reliably — even if it appears to be working. Check the date stamp on the back of your unit to confirm its age.
Smartfix provides smoke alarm installation, testing, maintenance, replacement and compliance certification for Perth homeowners and landlords. All work is completed by licensed electricians and backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.
