A DIY installation can void your home insurance, void the charger warranty, and create serious safety risks. Smartfix holds licence EC12968 and issues a compliance certificate on every job.
Check they hold a WA electrical contractor licence (starts with “EC”), assess your switchboard before quoting — not on installation day — and provide a fixed price upfront with a compliance certificate on completion. Experience with EV-specific load requirements matters, not all electricians install chargers regularly.
A standard 7kW single-phase charger typically costs start from $1,200 installed. For more complex jobs — like a three-phase setup or a switchboard upgrade at the same time — Smartfix will provide a free onsite quote and give you a clear upfront price before any work starts.
Most standard installations are completed within a day — typically four to eight hours. If a switchboard upgrade is needed, allow a little extra time. Smartfix will give you an accurate timeframe at the initial quote so you can plan ahead.
